Period home moves through the ages to achieve a strong contemporary, modern look-and-feel.

As two busy working professionals, our clients successfully completed a full renovation and extension to their period home. We combined the essence of their energy-driven, sporting and healthy lifestyles with their historical home to deliver a truly modern makeover. Their appetite for clean cooking created the perfect motivation for a decidedly German-inspired kitchen with calm, muted colour palettes building a minimalist, relaxed environment. Matching this healthy lifestyle and commitment to health and well-being, a retreat and yoga space was created and is found just off the kitchen.

In turn, this space links seamlessly with a compact utility space and throughout this interior, a view of the cedar-clad south-facing courtyard can be enjoyed from several vantage points. Round lighting-wells cast an eye over the kitchen and draw more light into the centre of the living space, illustrating the carefully designed contours and character. It also conversely creates an interesting juxtaposition with the linear lines and pure architecture.
